TRUPATI - Tirupati Station gets GreenCo “Gold Certification” from CII-IGBC Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Commerce and Industry inspected Tirupati Railway Station and reviewed the Redevelopment works at the station, today i.e., 14th June, 2019. He was accompanied by Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR; Shri Vijay Pratap Singh, Divisional Railway Manager and other Officials of Guntakal Division.
The Hon’ble Minister undertook an extensive tour of Tirupati Railway Station, covering the entire station premises from the main (North side) till the South side entrance area. He reviewed the ongoing works with Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) and Railway Officials on the station development plans on south side of the station. He advised officials to
construct a Multi-storied complex on the main entrance side to provide additional facilities to pilgrim traffic visiting the abode of Lord Venkateshwara.
The Minister specially complimented Safai Karmacharis working at the Railway station for maintaining the premises with utmost cleanliness and in hygienic condition, thereby ensuring passenger convenience. He visited the Food Track - the catering outlet maintained by IRCTC at the station to check the quality of food and expressed appreciation of the standards maintained. He interacted with passengers and enquired on the availability of facilities at “Athithi AC Premium Lounge”. He sought detailed information on the status of developmental plans at South Side entrance and instructed the officials to speed up the process of executing the approved plans for passenger convenience. He inspected Foot Over Bridge, waiting halls on platform no.1 and had a detailed view of Tirupati Railway Station Redevelopment Model on display at main concourse area.
Earlier, Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister along with Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager and Shri V.P.Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division received the GreenCo Certification-Gold Rating (National Excellence) for Tirupati Railway Station awarded by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Shri Mekapati Gautam Reddy, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh was also present on the occasion.
Shri Piyush Goyal also participated in an interactive session on “Ease of doing Business”
organized by Industries and Commerce Department of Government of Andhra Pradesh, in which members from Trade, Industry & Commerce participated. During the interaction, Hon’ble Minister assured full co-operation of Railways for the development of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
